Check out the impressive numbers (below) showing the peak heat index values.  They represent the reason for the strong sweltering conditions!  It\u2019s also why the National Weather Service had Broward and Miami-Dade under a Heat Advisory throughout the afternoon hours, on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Blog-2-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1742426\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The generally quiet weather isn\u2019t confined to south Florida.  Here\u2019s a glance at the entire state experiencing mostly dry conditions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Blog-3-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1742427\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The tame weather is due to persisting High Pressure over the region (and we haven\u2019t seen the last of it).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Blog-4-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1742428\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, the weather map shows High Pressure (two centers) bridging across Florida.  That will keep us with \u201cmore of the same\u201d although wind speeds will weaken.  It\u2019ll be an onshore flow with our winds only between 5 and 10 mph, down from recent days.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/5_7a94e4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1742429\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Another feature to watch is the presence of Saharan Dust.  It\u2019s in the orange-shaded area in the forecast map above.  The thickest Dust is likely to remain south of the Keys while some shallow Dust makes a slow spread into the Mainland.  At minimum, we can expect hazy sky.  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"576\" width=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/7_439a71.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1742430\"  \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">If the Saharan Dust stays weak, or shallow, it may NOT be enough (drying) to fend off a moisture increase.  At this point, we\u2019re calling for Light Dust that\u2019s minor enough to allow for scattered areas of rain.
