{"id":368482,"date":"2026-08-11T15:42:07","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T15:42:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/368482\/"},"modified":"2026-08-11T15:42:07","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T15:42:07","slug":"hialeah-mayor-announces-temporary-closure-of-3-pool-facilities-to-review-conditions-nbc-6-south-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/368482\/","title":{"rendered":"Hialeah mayor announces temporary closure of 3 pool facilities to review conditions \u2013 NBC 6 South Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hialeah Mayor Bryan Calvo on Tuesday ordered the temporary closure of pool facilities in the city as a review into their conditions is underway.<\/p>\n<p>According to Calvo, McDonald Pool, Milander Pool and Babcock Pool will be temporarily closed.<\/p>\n<p>The closure of these pool facilities comes after a n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/bucky-dent-water-park-hialeah-closed-health-department-permit\/3842815\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/bucky-dent-water-park-hialeah-closed-health-department-permit\/3842815\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ew water park in Hialeah was closed <\/a>last week due to what the city said was a pending health department permit.<\/p>\n<p>Bucky Dent Water Park\u00a0had just reopened on July 31\u00a0after a seven-year closure.<\/p>\n<p>The water park will remain closed during the review.<\/p>\n<p>An independent expert will now do a comprehensive assessment of Hialeah&#8217;s pool facilities and will give Calvo&#8217;s administration findings regarding the conditions and what improvements need to be made.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResidents have every right to expect that when a City facility is open to the public, we have done everything necessary to ensure it is operating properly,\u201d Mayor Calvo said in a statement. \u201cWhen information came to my attention that raised additional questions about our aquatics operations, I made the decision to act immediately.
