NBC6 shows<\/a> two officers arriving at the property and quickly making their way into the backyard.<\/p>\nThe boy\u2019s mother can be heard screaming and pleading with the officers to save her son as they respond to the emergency.<\/p>\n
One of the officers immediately began performing CPR on the child. <\/p>\n
As the officer continued the lifesaving measures, the boy began expelling water and eventually regained consciousness, according to the footage.<\/p>\n
After the child became responsive, an officer picked him up and carried him away from the swimming pool toward a fire rescue truck that had arrived at the home.<\/p>\n
Hialeah Mayor Bryan Calvo later identified the responding officers as Renato Bejar and Hector Rosado of the Hialeah Police Department. Calvo recognized both officers for their actions during the rescue.<\/p>\n
The body-camera footage documenting the incident was obtained by NBC6 and released publicly Tuesday, nearly three months after the May emergency.<\/p>\n
Authorities did not provide additional details about how the 1-year-old ended up in the swimming pool before he was discovered unconscious.<\/p>\n
Additional information about the boy\u2019s condition following the rescue was not immediately available.
