(WCTV) &#8211; As students head back to school, the Florida Lottery is reminding them to apply for Bright Futures by the end of August to be considered for the scholarship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The state agency said students have until August 31 to apply to receive academic financial assistance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Florida Lottery Secretary Reginald D. Dixon said the scholarship is important to students and families in Florida. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cBack to school season marks the beginning of new opportunities for students across our state,\u201d Dixon said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-center\">View other recent news videos from WCTV here:<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cThe Bright Futures Scholarship Program has helped generations of Florida students turn their dreams into reality by providing critical support throughout their educational journeys.
