JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Jaguars have plenty of moving pieces a few weeks into training camp, but things are starting to fall into place. <\/p>\n

The Jaguars released their first unofficial depth chart <\/a>on Tuesday ahead of joint practices and their preseason opener with the New Orleans Saints, and several Jaguars saw their names elevated from where they started in training camp.<\/p>\n

So, whose stock is soaring the most ahead of Saints week? <\/a>We break it down below. <\/p>\n

DL Matt Dickerson \"matt<\/p>\n

The Jaguars’ veteran defensive tackle was a surprise contributor a year ago, going from a spot on the practice squad to eventually becoming a key part of the Jaguars’ defensive tackle rotation. Dickerson has been frequently used as an example by the coaching staff of how hard work and effort in practice can lead to a spot on game day, and he made the second-team defensive line on the depth chart ahead of new defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro. It is hard to imagine a 53-man roster right now <\/a>without him on it. <\/p>\n

“Matt has done a really good job. I think even in the offseason, in his downtime, he was out working with some guys, getting better,” Jaguars defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile said on Wednesday. “He’s come in really just physically strong at the point of attack so that shown up, and he’s a tough guy. He’s really, what you love about our defense in terms of he’s always doing his job. It’s important to him. He’s a great teammate, so I love coaching the guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

No player has done more for their overall stock in 2026 so far than Jabbar Muhammad. He flashed as an undrafted rookie a year ago but had to cut his teeth on the practice squad for the season. He then arrived in the spring and seemingly made a big play in every single practice, whether with an interception or a timely pass breakup. This has carried over to training camp, and he was now officially listed as a second-team cornerback. He looks like he will make the roster and even contribute. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d say Jabbar, you go back to the spring, he’s probably one of the most improved players on the team. He’s doing a heck of a job playing obviously corner and nickel. I\u2019m excited,” Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

“I want to see him get in the game mix. I remember last year in the first preseason game, he showed up on a play just like running it down from the other side of the field and you’re just excited to go see what that could look like. And if he’s truly taken that next step that we’ve seen, ultimately, we do need to see it in a game-like scenario.\u201d<\/p>\n

This time last year, Travis Hunter was listed as one of the Jaguars’ starting receivers alongside Brian Thomas Jr. and Dyami Brown, but he was also listed as a backup cornerback. His snaps in the season then reflected that, with Hunter playing twice as many snaps on offense as he did on defense during his seven-game rookie season. This time around, though, it has been made even more clear than before just how big of a role Hunter is set to play on defense. <\/p>\n

Hunter is now listed as a starting cornerback, yet another signal that he is about to see a significantly larger role at cornerback than he did a year ago. While his offensive snaps will be impacted to some degree as a part of that equation, he has still spent every single day of training camp practicing at both positions, unlike last summer. <\/p>\n

RB Ameer Abdullah \"nf\"<\/p>\n

I would have said Ameer Abdullah was either the No. 5 or No. 6 running back coming into training camp, and I would not have given much thought about it. But all he has done since camp has begun is make plays with the second-team offense, and as a result he was listed as the Jaguars’ No. 4 running back and ahead of DeeJay Dallas and undrafted rookie J’Mari Taylor. <\/p>\n

This is more or less how things have played out with the backfield in camp, with Abdullah taking the most second-team reps alongside Nick Mullens in training camp as opposed to Dallas or Taylor. It will still be tough for him to make the roster, but he has made a big jump since he signed with the Jaguars in the offseason.<\/p>\n

The Rookie WRs\"cj<\/p>\n

Both sixth-round rookie wide receivers Josh Cameron and CJ Williams are listed as backup receivers and ahead of a group of veteran wideouts in Austin Trammell and Tim Jones, which paints an acurate picture of what the pecking order has been at training camp thus far. This is not to say that the duo was not expected to be in such a spot, but it is evident on the Jaguars’ depth chart that most rookies are simply behind veterans because they haven’t played yet. <\/p>\n

This is not the case with either rookie wide receiver, though, which could help the Jaguars’ duo continue to seperate themselves and even make themselves a part of the passing game’s short-term plans moving forward. <\/p>\n
