The Florida Surplus Lines Association (FSLA<\/a>) has appointed a new leadership team.<\/p>\n

The organization is a networking group for insurance companies and is holding its 66th Annual Convention in St. Petersburg this week. The FSLA named 14 people to run the Board of Directors for the association, which represents insurance carriers for properties in high-risk or unique locales.<\/p>\n

The organization named Tonya Rivera of Johnson & Johnson Inc. as President for 2026-2027.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an incredible honor to serve as president of the Florida Surplus Lines Association,\u201d Rivera said following her installation.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur industry plays a vital role in helping Florida businesses and consumers find coverage for unique and evolving risks, and I\u2019m excited to build on the strong foundation laid by those who came before me. Together, we\u2019ll continue advocating for a healthy marketplace, investing in future industry leaders and strengthening the partnerships that make Florida\u2019s surplus lines community one of the strongest in the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia<\/a> will be one of the keynote speakers at the convention.<\/p>\n

FSLA members also honored outgoing President Albert Geraci, formally naming him past President. He will also serve on the Board.<\/p>\n

\u201cServing as FSLA president has been one of the greatest honors of my career,\u201d Geraci said. \u201cWhat makes this association special is its people, the members who generously share their time, expertise and passion for strengthening our industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Florida surplus lines market generated about $9.4 billion in premiums through June.<\/p>\n

Beyond Geraci and Rivera, the organization appointed the remainder of its Board of Directors, including:<\/p>\n

\u2014 Director: Steve Kass of XPT Specialty.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Director: Marianne Correa of RT Specialty.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Director: John Barfield of Bridge Specialty Group.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Director: Dustin Applebaum of Element22 Insurance Services.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Past President\u2019s Representative: Michael Franzese of RT Specialty.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Insurance Company Representative: Scott Smith of RSUI.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Insurance Company Representative: David Enichen of Markel.<\/p>\n

\u2014 Industry Associate Representative: Valdir Gonsales Serra Jr. of Lloyd\u2019s.<\/p>\n
