{"id":370330,"date":"2026-08-13T12:40:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T12:40:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/370330\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T12:40:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T12:40:08","slug":"5th-suspect-extradited-to-broward-county-in-connection-with-fatal-north-lauderdale-shooting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/370330\/","title":{"rendered":"5th suspect extradited to Broward County in connection with fatal North Lauderdale shooting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla.  \u2014 A fifth suspect wanted in connection with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/local\/2026\/05\/12\/bso-2-boys-among-4-arrested-after-mustang-shot-up-in-north-lauderdale-leaving-1-dead-1-hurt\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/news\/local\/2026\/05\/12\/bso-2-boys-among-4-arrested-after-mustang-shot-up-in-north-lauderdale-leaving-1-dead-1-hurt\/\">North Lauderdale shooting<\/a> that authorities say left a 19-year-old man dead and another person injured earlier this year has been extradited to Broward County. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Investigators said Matthew Holloway, 21, surrendered to the Jefferson County Sheriff\u2019s Office in Monticello, Florida, on Sunday and was extradited to Broward County on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Holloway faces one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted felony murder in connection with the May 8 shooting near the 7900 block of Southwest Seventh Court, according to jail records. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Deputies with the Broward Sheriff\u2019s Office said they responded to reports of a shooting at around 1 a.m. and found 19-year-old O\u2019Mari Doe inside a 2020 Ford Mustang suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They said Doe was airlifted to Broward Health North, where he later died.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Authorities said 20-year-old Maurice Vorroto was found outside the vehicle with a gunshot wound. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to investigators, Doe, Vorroto and two other people were inside the Mustang when five suspects arrived in a black Honda Accord. Witnesses told detectives that the suspects got out of the vehicle armed with handguns and fired multiple shots into the Mustang before fleeing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">A Fort Lauderdale police officer later spotted the Honda Accord, leading to a pursuit.
