TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A 12-year-old Griffin Middle School student was arrested on Thursday for \u201cpossession of a weapon on school grounds,\u201d according to the Leon County Sheriff\u2019s Office. <\/p>\n
LCSO said school administrators and a resource deputy found a \u201cblack metal BB gun inside [the student\u2019s] backpack\u201d after receiving a tip that the 6th grader may have a firearm on school grounds.<\/p>\n
The student faces a charge of possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds and was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center, according to the sheriff\u2019s office. <\/p>\n
