ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n
A person died after being shot Wednesday night at a residence in the Seminole Mobile Home Park community, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n
Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office Patrol Operations Bureau and personnel from the St. Lucie County Fire District responded to the 3300 block of Orange Avenue at approximately 9:11 p.m. on Aug. 12 following reports of a shooting.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, the initial caller reported that an individual had been shot while allegedly attempting to enter a residence.<\/p>\n
When deputies arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The individual was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.<\/p>\n
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Investigators responded to both the scene and the hospital as the investigation unfolded. Authorities later obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence, where they recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.<\/p>\n
Investigators remained at the scene overnight, processing evidence and conducting interviews. Detectives and crime scene personnel completed their work and cleared the residence at approximately 6:11 a.m. Thursday.<\/p>\n
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.<\/p>\n
At this time, authorities believe the incident was isolated and say there is no known immediate threat to the surrounding community.<\/p>\n
