(CBS12) \u2014 A United States Coast Guard Air Station Miami airplane safely rescued a 58-year-old man near the island of Sint Maarten, according to a Facebook post from U.S. Coast Guard Southeast.<\/p>\n<p>The Coast Guard says that on Thursday, crews found a man \u2014 later identified as Peter Baron, 58, aboard a catamaran using his emergency tiller to steer his vessel about 10 miles west of Sint Maarten. With the help of the Dutch Coast Guard and French marine crews, they were to local Baron, and bring him to Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten.<\/p>\n<p>Baron\u2019s family had reported him overdue on Wednesday, and he was rescued by crews the following day. We remind boaters of the vital importance of having proper communication equipment and emergency signaling before getting underway\u2014it truly can save your life.\u201d Cmdr.
