JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 A Jacksonville man is demanding answers and accountability after he says a neighbor\u2019s dogs killed 11 of his turkeys. <\/p>\n
It all happened on Warbler Road in Northwest Jacksonville.<\/p>\n
For Michael Jaster, his livestock are more than just a responsibility, it gives him a purpose. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m disabled; I\u2019m home all day between the chickens and turkeys; this is my physical therapy; this is what I need to do,\u201d said Jaster.<\/p>\n
However, when Jaster woke up to feed his 11 turkeys this morning, he never expected to see his turkeys\u2019 enclosure turned into a graveyard.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe neighbor\u2019s dogs, again, climbed over my fence, worked their way into the pen, and killed all 11 turkeys,\u201d said Jaster,<\/p>\n
Jaster says the turkeys were two months old, and they were supposed to be grown and sold for Thanksgiving dinner.<\/p>\n
\u201cTwo of these turkeys were supposed to go to the American Legion post for their Thanksgiving dinner, and now I don\u2019t know what I\u2019m gonna do for dinner,\u201d said Jaster. \u201cThese are the same dogs that killed my chickens last year that Animal Control has done nothing about.\u201d<\/p>\n
We tried to knock on the neighbor\u2019s door, but there was a giant no trespassing sign and one of the dogs was outside.<\/p>\n
Jaster says he\u2019s called animal control at least a dozen times since last year. But he doesn\u2019t feel enough has been done. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve called my city councilman. And it\u2019d be like a month later, animal control call say, oh, we rode by, but we didn\u2019t see no dogs. So they do nothing,\u201d said Jaster. \u201cI want the city to be responsible for my dead animals.\u201d<\/p>\n
We reached out to the city of Jacksonville and ACPS and asked if they plan to investigate Jaster\u2019s dead turkeys incident.<\/p>\n

Jaster has contacted ACPS multiple times, and we have responded to and investigated the complaints as they have come in.<\/p>\n

This was our first documented interaction regarding the dogs. Officer Lowery responded and issued the dog owner two citations, one for dog at large and one for a rabies violation.<\/p>\n
January 2026 | Case #269854705<\/p>\n
Jaster contacted ACPS again regarding the dogs. Officer Lowery responded but did not observe the dogs running at large. At the time of the response, the dogs were behind the property gate. Lowery educated Jaster on the affidavit process so violations that are not directly witnessed by an officer can still be documented and reviewed.<\/p>\n
June 24, 2026 | Case #269988758<\/p>\n
Jaster contacted ACPS again, this time reporting concerns about the dogs barking.<\/p>\n
August 14, 2026 | Case #264031008<\/p>\n
Jaster contacted ACPS today and reported that the dogs killed his turkeys. We have not responded to this complaint yet, but due to the history at this location and the reported escalation involving the death of livestock, Mr. Jasper will be called again today to see if we can get more information or proof of who the dogs are.<\/p>\n
Overall, this is an address and situation we are familiar with. We have responded to Jaster\u2019s complaints, taken enforcement action when violations were observed, and provided him with information on how to document violations when they are not witnessed directly by an officer.<\/p>\n
