{"id":372144,"date":"2026-08-15T09:42:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T09:42:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/372144\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T09:42:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T09:42:16","slug":"woman-teens-accused-of-stealing-16000-hermes-birkin-handbag-from-sunny-isles-beach-retailer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/372144\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman, teens accused of stealing $16,000 Hermes Birkin handbag from Sunny Isles Beach retailer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">SUNNY ISLES BEACH, Fla. \u2014 A northwest Miami-Dade woman and two teenagers are facing grand theft charges after stealing a pricey designer handbag from a consignment store in Sunny Isles Beach, according to police.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2026\/08\/14\/mujer-y-adolescentes-acusados-de-robar-bolso-birkin-de-hermes-con-valor-de-16-000-dolares-en-tienda-de-sunny-isles-beach\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2026\/08\/14\/mujer-y-adolescentes-acusados-de-robar-bolso-birkin-de-hermes-con-valor-de-16-000-dolares-en-tienda-de-sunny-isles-beach\/\">Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Monique Jonell Williams, 18, and the two 16-year-olds were taken into custody on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department, the theft happened at The Brand Original, located at 18090 Collins Ave., just before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">An SIBPD arrest report states that one of the teens entered the store at around 12:20 p.m., \u201ccanvassed\u201d it, then came back along with Williams and the other teen about five minutes later. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Police said one of the teens grabbed the $16,000 Hermes Birkin handbag off the shelf and got into a black Cadillac CT4 with Louisiana tags and took off.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">After putting out a be-on-the-lookout notice, authorities said Fort Lauderdale police spotted the sedan at a Wawa gas station at 2620 W. Broward Blvd. on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Authorities said they saw the trio change vehicles and get into a gray Tesla, which officers pulled over nearby at Northwest Fourth Street and 27th Avenue.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">They said all three later \u201cconfessed to the theft, pointing themselves out in the CCTV (footage) obtained from the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">As of Friday morning, Williams was being held in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $2,500 bond.
