{"id":372358,"date":"2026-08-15T16:20:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T16:20:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/372358\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T16:20:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T16:20:12","slug":"18-arrested-after-tampa-street-takeover-near-u-s-highway-301-fhp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/372358\/","title":{"rendered":"18 arrested after Tampa street takeover near U.S. Highway 301: FHP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TAMPA, Fla. \u2014 Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) troopers broke up a street takeover early Friday morning at an industrial complex near U.S. Highway 301 and Columbus Drive, according to a news release.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers said an aviation unit responded around 12:35 a.m. after authorities discovered a coordinated gathering involving vehicles and pedestrians in a warehouse and commercial parking lot.<\/p>\n<p>From the air, troopers observed drivers performing doughnuts, burnouts and drifting while pedestrians watched nearby, all in violation of Florida\u2019s racing on highways statute, FHP said.<\/p>\n<p>Multiple troopers responded to the scene and made 18 arrests.
