{"id":373351,"date":"2026-08-17T02:30:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-17T02:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/373351\/"},"modified":"2026-08-17T02:30:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-17T02:30:10","slug":"early-voting-for-tuesdays-florida-primary-ends","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/373351\/","title":{"rendered":"Early voting for Tuesday&#8217;s Florida primary ends"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Early voting for Tuesday&#8217;s Florida primary ends<\/p>\n<p>Turnout, including mail-in, is 13.5% so far in the state<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1786933810_955_author_avatar.png\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"Allen Cone\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">Early voting for Florida&#8217;s primary on Tuesday ended on Sunday with 738,788 people casting their ballots ahead of time.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">Combined with 1,077,951 mail-in ballots accepted in the 68 counties so far, a total of 1,816,729 voters have cast their ballots.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">This represents a 13.5% turnout of 13,499,674 registered voters, which breaks down as 837,947 Republican, 490,244 Democrat, and no-party\/other at 169,862.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">In 2022, the primary turnout was 22.4% and 54% in the general election. In 2024, the presidential primary turnout was 22.43% and 78.9% in the general election.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">Palm Beach County has more Democrats registered than Republicans, with more Republicans registered on the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">More Republicans voted at early sites, 420,102, compared with Democrats at 262,309. Non-party\/others total 56,377.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"7\">But more Democrats already returned their mail-in ballots at 490,244 compared with 417,845 Republicans and 169,862 others.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"8\">Counties had a choice to end their early voting on Saturday or Sunday.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"9\">The Treasure Coast and Okeechobee closed on Saturday, with Palm Beach County ending at 7 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"10\">On the last day in Palm Beach County, 8,890 voted early at the 28 sites, the most of the nine days.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"11\">The Lantana Road Branch Library had the largest total turnout with 3,384.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"12\">Turnout for early voting and mail-in was the highest in Indian River County at 17.4%, followed by Palm Beach County at 13.8%, Martin at 13.7%, St. Lucie at 13.3% and Okeechobee at 10.5%.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"13\">On Election Day, you must vote at your assigned polling place. To find yours, click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.votepalmbeach.gov\/Voters\/Precinct-Finder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"14\">Counties will accept mail-in ballots until 7 p.m. Tuesday, including their designated precincts and the elections office. Ballots must be received in the counties by then regardless of the postmark.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"15\">Polls open at 7 a.m. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"16\">\u201cObviously we want everybody to vote so we are hoping that means  we have a really busy election day,&#8221; Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Wendy Sartory Link told WPBF.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"17\">Officials remind voters to bring a valid, current photo identification that includes their signature.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"18\">WPBF News will have live, team coverage across Florida on Tuesday.
