ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 Central Florida is in for another day of dangerous heat as temperatures climb into the mid-to-upper 90s, with heat index values expected to reach between 105 and 110 degrees.<\/p>\n
A Heat Advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. as the prolonged heat wave continues across the region. <\/p>\n
Residents are urged to take precautions, including drinking plenty of water, limiting time outdoors during the hottest part of the day and checking on children, older adults and pets.<\/p>\n
Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will also be possible Monday, particularly across the eastern half of Central Florida. <\/p>\n
Storms could bring frequent lightning, heavy rainfall and gusty winds.<\/p>\n
While the heat will remain a concern through much of the week, there are signs of some relief ahead.<\/p>\n
Temperatures could ease back toward more typical summertime levels by the end of the week, providing a small break from the recent stretch of excessive heat.<\/p>\n
