Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\n\u201cIt is too late to mail your vote by mail ballot, so if you want to turn it in, it has to be at one of our offices in Broward County,\u201d said Broward Supervisor of Elections Joe Scott. <\/p>\n
Early and mail-in ballots are already being tabulated ahead of Tuesday\u2019s primary election. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe equipment is running great, we haven\u2019t had complaints this time around,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n
But the turnout so far in Broward County has been low, according to Scott. <\/p>\n
\u201cTurnout for this election has been very slow, surprisingly slow,\u201d he said. \u201cWith some of the really active contests that were happening that were pretty high profile, I\u2019m surprised that more people didn\u2019t turn out.\u201d<\/p>\n
Although Florida has a closed primary, meaning you can only vote for candidates of your own party, in Broward County there are still nonpartisan races that all voters can cast ballots for, as well as those with no party affiliation, like seats on the Broward County School Board. <\/p>\n
And as always, while it\u2019s important to check your sample ballot because districts have been redrawn, Scott said your voting precinct should stay the same.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour voting location on Election Day is going to be exactly the same as it was before this,\u201d said Scott. \u201cThe changes of the map does not necessairally change your precinct.\u201d<\/p>\n
