Las Olas, FL – The FBI is searching for a man accused of robbing a Truist Bank in downtown Fort Lauderdale and escaping with an undisclosed amount of money.<\/p>\n
The robbery happened around 4:20 p.m. August 13 at the Truist branch at 501 E. Las Olas Boulevard, according to federal investigators.<\/p>\n
Authorities said the unidentified man entered the bank and approached an employee. <\/p>\n
He allegedly indicated that he had a firearm before demanding money from the worker.<\/p>\n
The suspect allegedly received an undisclosed amount of cash and left the bank. <\/p>\n
Investigators have not said whether a weapon was displayed during the encounter.<\/p>\n
No employees or customers were injured, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
The FBI released surveillance images Monday showing the man investigators are attempting to identify. <\/p>\n
Authorities said the suspect was wearing distinctive red sunglasses, a black beanie and dark clothing during the robbery.<\/p>\n
Officials have not publicly released additional details about the man’s physical description or how he left the area after allegedly taking the money.<\/p>\n
No arrest has been announced, and the suspect’s identity remains unknown.<\/p>\n
As a result, no arrest report detailing charges against an identified suspect is currently available.<\/p>\n
The FBI’s Miami Field Office is investigating the robbery and seeking information from anyone who may recognize the man shown in the surveillance images.<\/p>\n
