{"id":375061,"date":"2026-08-18T23:08:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T23:08:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/375061\/"},"modified":"2026-08-18T23:08:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T23:08:09","slug":"orlando-museum-of-art-offers-free-admission-on-august-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/375061\/","title":{"rendered":"Orlando Museum of Art offers free admission on August 20"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">ORLANDO, Fla. \u2014 The <a href=\"https:\/\/omart.org\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Orlando Museum of Art<\/a> will offer free admission and extended hours Thursday, Aug. 20, as part of its monthly Access for All program.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Visitors can explore its current exhibitions and participate in several free activities throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">Thursday is also the final day to vote for the <a href=\"https:\/\/omart.org\/exhibitions\/12th-annual-florida-prize-in-contemporary-art\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Florida Prize in Contemporary Art<\/a> People\u2019s Choice Award. The exhibition closes Sunday, Aug. 23.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The schedule includes:<\/p>\n<p>2:30 p.m.: Gallery talk with the museum\u2019s curatorial team 4 p.m.: Performance of Magnificent Aurora Fallen To Earth 5 to 7 p.m.: Sketching in the galleries 5:30 p.m.: Second performance of Magnificent Aurora Fallen To Earth 7 p.m.: Docent-led highlights tour By 8 p.m.: Final opportunity to vote for the People\u2019s Choice Award <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The immersive play Magnificent Aurora Fallen To Earth was written by Florida Prize artist Mette Tommerup and will be performed by Phantasmagoria Unplugged.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 eJzHXc body-paragraph\">The monthly <a href=\"https:\/\/omart.org\/events\/access_for_all_oma\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Access for All program<\/a> is supported by the Art Bridges Foundation.
