Impact Weather: Central Florida faces triple-digit heat index before storms roll in<\/p>\n

\"AllisonORLANDO, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n

Central Florida is in for another round of hot afternoons as high heat and humidity push the feels-like temperatures to dangerous levels.<\/p>\n

The heat index is expected to reach between 108 and 112 degrees in parts of the region, prompting heat advisories.<\/p>\n

As the afternoon progresses, showers and thunderstorms are expected to become more widespread. <\/p>\n

Rain coverage is forecast to reach about 60%, bringing a better chance for downpours, lightning and gusty winds.<\/p>\n

The increase in storm activity will also provide some relief from the heat. <\/p>\n

As more storms develop through the week, temperatures are expected to trend a few degrees cooler.<\/p>\n
