(The NAPA Sponsorship and \u201cFamily Forever\u201d logos remain at this time, for now.<\/p>\n Attraction name scrubbed from the entrance, Photo: @SpeculationMatt<\/a><\/p>\n Also as of this morning, the attraction\u2019s listing has been removed from the official Universal Orlando app, and can no longer be found on the official website.<\/p>\n Attraction listing removed from official Universal Orlando app<\/p>\n The ride\u2019s exit gift shop, \u201cCustom Gear\u201d remains open today, despite the attraction\u2019s closure. Many additional existing merchandise has been marked down to 50% off.<\/p>\n Items marked down at former attraction\u2019s gift shop, Photo: @insideuniversal<\/a><\/p>\n Fast & Furious: Supercharged opened in 2018, meaning it didn\u2019t even make it a full decade in Universal Studios Florida before closing this month.<\/p>\n Universal Studios Hollywood tram tour\u2019s Supercharged segment was removed back in March of last year, as that park prepared for their Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster.<\/p>\n All this time later, and there still has not been an announcement for a replacement to the tram tour segment.<\/p>\n The former Supercharged showbuilding on the Studio Tour seems to be getting cleared out, and props have been removed from the entrance. @UniStudios<\/a> pic.twitter.com\/1WKO3BWc3Z<\/a><\/p>\n \u2014 Inside Universal (@insideuniversal) August 10, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n There has been work happening around the site<\/a> in Hollywood for the first time in a long time, just in the past three weeks or so, which is promising. Props have been removed<\/a> from around the entrance to the structure.<\/p>\n Rumors have been swirling in recent weeks for a possible new tram tour segment to replace the now long-absent finale.<\/p>\n The latest rumors for what Hollywood could see replace their Supercharged segment involve a new 360-tunnel scene based on the 2024 film, Twisters.<\/p>\n Twisters (2024), Universal Pictures\/Warner Bros.<\/p>\n These rumors have originated online, so no one seems to be sure of their accuracy, and of course Universal Hollywood has not confirmed the theory as of now.<\/p>\n If true, the latest version of the rumor has the 360 screen tunnel upgraded from projectors to large scale LED walls instead. Those would be similar displays as the ones utilized at the Ministry of Magic ride at Epic Universe, or The Bourne Stuntacular at Universal Studios Florida.<\/p>\n One of the upsides to utilizing LED screens, (besides a more vibrant and clear visual image, is that unlike projections,) is that LED allows for more physical objects to integrated into screen based scenes. Without having to keep the scenes dimly lit to allow proper projection, more physical things like set pieces, animatronics, or props in the foreground can be seen at the same time as the screen media behind them.<\/p>\n Twisters (2024), Universal Pictures\/Warner Bros.<\/p>\n In the case of a ride based on Twisters, one might imagine a physical flying cow soaring by the tram, as seen in front of the screen media, just as an example.<\/p>\n Again, Universal Hollywood has not officially announced anything to replace the former Supercharged segment, so the Twisters rumor is just that, a rumor.<\/p>\n A look back at the building, just a few weeks ago before closing<\/p>\n But that does take us back to Orlando. Because if this is the rumor for what might be replacing Supercharged in Hollywood, surely it would also be the leading replacement rumor for ours here in Orlando too, right?<\/p>\n I wouldn\u2019t be so sure. There are many in the fandom who believe the massive Supercharged building in Universal Studios Florida may just sit vacant for some time.<\/p>\n Aerial view of large Supercharged ride building, Photo: @bioreconstruct<\/a><\/p>\n Located in the San Fransisco section of the park, this large warehouse-themed structure may need to be re-themed to whichever property they choose to replace it with. And perhaps the land itself would need to be retooled as well to fit the new property?<\/p>\n The Universal Orlando Resort may already be biting off more than it can chew, with the completion of the Hollywood Drift roller coaster<\/a> still happening now, the full demolition of The Lost Continent<\/a> continuing next door at Islands of Adventure, and multiple permitted projects<\/a> for the brand new Epic Universe park, they may already be stretched too think.<\/p>\n For now, they are utilizing a good chunk of the Fast & Furious: Supercharged queue and facade area for a Halloween Horror Nights haunted house, so don\u2019t expect any demolition to begin any time soon.<\/p>\n A new theory that is building up steam, is that Orlando\u2019s version could be turned into a type of \u201cblack box\u201d flex space. Where the 360-screen tunnel and ride system remain, but the ride film gets swapped out from time to time for \u201cspecial engagements.\u201d<\/p>\n This plan would allow the company to forgo redoing the San Fransisco land, for now. And would even allow them to barely theme the barren warehouse as needed for each \u201ctemporary\u201d overlay.<\/p>\n The black box theory may fit with recent rumors<\/a> of temporary overlays like Back to the Future being thrown around on forums.<\/p>\n In any case, whether Orlando\u2019s now defunct Supercharged brings the Twister franchise back to Universal Studios Florida, or the space is frequented by various temporary attractions over the next decade or so, the bottom line is Universal Orlando appears to be in no hurry to let us know.<\/p>\n Perhaps the building will just remain vacant for some time. (Which for some folks, may still be a better outcome than leaving the highly despised Supercharged open for one day longer.)<\/p>\n Stay tuned as we continue to cover the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster project, whatever happens in this space, and more around Universal Orlando.
