Police say Cape Coral driver with suspended license, meth pipe hit cars, nearly striking house<\/p>\n

A Cape Coral family is recovering after a woman accused of driving high on methamphetamine, with a suspended license, crashed into their parked cars and nearly struck their home on Southeast 23rd Place. <\/p>\n

Micah Dzialo, the homeowner, said the crash has left him unable to take his child to school. <\/p>\n

“Why were you behind the wheel? Like, why were you driving if you knew you weren’t supposed to be driving? Why were you driving?” Dzialo said. <\/p>\n

Dzialo described the crash, saying, “She flew right into my yard, flew right into my yard, hit my work truck, [sent] my work truck about 12 feet into my actual personal vehicle. Oh, yeah, she messed up everything.” <\/p>\n

Police said Danielle Zinderman lost control of her vehicle while driving along Viscaya Parkway. <\/p>\n

Dzialo and his family were in the living room when the crash occurred.<\/p>\n

“I’m so glad she only stopped right there; if she didn’t, we would have all been dead,” he said. <\/p>\n

Neighbors also reacted to the crash, with Alex Paz, a Cape Coral resident, saying, “I thought maybe it was something more like a homicide or something; just a lot of police were on this road.” <\/p>\n

Cape Coral police arrived at the scene and found Zinderman showing signs of impairment.<\/p>\n

According to the police report, she failed a field sobriety test, and officers discovered a burnt pipe with residue and a small bag in the back of her truck, which tested positive for meth. <\/p>\n

Zinderman was arrested and charged with multiple counts, including DUI, property damage and possession of drug paraphernalia. <\/p>\n

This marks Zinderman’s 26th arrest in Lee County. <\/p>\n

Despite her arrest, Dzialo said the incident has changed how his family uses their home. <\/p>\n

“We hang out in the family room in the backyard because I don’t even want to hang out right here because I’m scared someone else might come through my house, so I don’t even want that to happen,” he said.<\/p>\n
