Family seeks help after 19-year-old cyclist killed in Collier County hit-and-run<\/p>\n

\"Natacha<\/a>IMMOKALEE, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n

A 19-year-old bicyclist, Landin Ahrens, was killed in a hit-and-run crash near Immokalee, and his family is asking for help to find the driver responsible. <\/p>\n

On Monday, a driver traveling along State Road 29 and State Road 82<\/a> noticed a bicycle on the grass shoulder and contacted law enforcement to investigate. <\/p>\n

“Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene, and indeed, we located a deceased young male, and there was a bicycle in the area as well,” Lt. Gregory Bueno of the Florida Highway Patrol said. <\/p>\n

Authorities are working to determine if Ahrens was struck and killed days before he was found. <\/p>\n

“What we’re able to determine at this point, looking at the totality of everything, is this incident probably occurred several days before in the form of a hit-and-run traffic crash. And we’re kind of trying to narrow a window as best we can, and we’re looking at this time, Friday evening around 10 or 11 p.m.,” Bueno said. <\/p>\n

A family member said there is a reward for any information that leads to an arrest. <\/p>\n

Bueno said investigators are searching for a vehicle with a busted headlight. <\/p>\n
