That negative trend comes as JTA has already implemented <a href=\"https:\/\/jaxtoday.org\/2026\/05\/29\/jta-cuts-fare-increases\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">cost-cutting measures<\/a>, with more on the way in coming months.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p id=\"h988694-p3\">The authority is expected to finish the year with a $31.8 million deficit, auditors wrote, an increase from the projected $2.25 million deficit reported six months into the fiscal year on March 31.
