We are officially entering the season of falling frozen iguanas<\/a>.<\/p>\n

South Florida is forecasted to feel a bit chillier next week <\/a>when a cold front arrives on Monday. Temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-50s on Tuesday thanks to gusty winds and drier air. The National Weather Service (NWS) Miami wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that the east coast of South Florida can expect temperatures in the 40s to the low 50s. Weather forecasters say the cold air is coming all the way from the Arctic Circle.<\/p>\n

If the weather dips into the low 40s, the invasive, cold-blooded reptiles<\/a>, which often sleep in trees, may fall into a cold-induced paralysis and plunge from the foliage. They have landed on cars, pools, and in one case, a Miami man doing yoga in a park<\/a>. But not to worry, the critters will eventually wake up and resume their regular scheduled programming once the weather warms up.<\/p>\n

As everyone is thrilled about the arrival of chillier weather, you may be wondering if the cooler temperatures are here to stay. NWS Miami says that based on historical data, the cold weather is officially upon us.<\/p>\n

NWS concluded that Miami typically experiences temperatures equal to or below 60 degrees, 55 degrees, 50 degrees, and 45 degrees on November 7, November 23, December 9, and December 26th, respectively. Miami hasn\u2019t seen temperatures at or below 60 degrees in 2025 so far.<\/p>\n

There has been plenty of buzz about a strong cold front that is forecasted to arrive across South Florida during the early portion of next week. <\/p>\n

On the other hand, Fort Lauderdale got its first taste of temperatures at or below 60 degrees on Halloween, four days earlier than the average. Fort Lauderdale residents can expect temperatures to drop to or below 55 degrees around November 18, followed by temperatures of 50 degrees or below on November 28 and 45 degrees or below on December 18.<\/p>\n

While West Palm Beach, on average, has experienced cooler temperatures sooner than its Broward County neighbor, it also had the first day of temperatures at or below 60 degrees on Halloween. Those in West Palm Beach can start feeling temperatures as low as 50 degrees by November 28. <\/p>\n
