{"id":376861,"date":"2026-08-20T20:24:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T20:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/376861\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T20:24:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T20:24:09","slug":"butler-county-first-responders-recover-body-from-great-miami-river","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/376861\/","title":{"rendered":"Butler County first responders recover body from Great Miami River"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Butler County first responders recover body from Great Miami River<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/59018542-c295-4fd7-b6db-c05548e67256_1779731484.file.png\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"Matthew Dietz\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>HAMILTON, Ohio \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">First responders in Butler County recovered a body from the Great Miami River, near the Hamilton dam, on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">The Butler County Sheriff&#8217;s Office said they received a call around 11:40 a.m. from someone reporting a body was in the Great Miami River.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">Members of the Butler County Sheriff&#8217;s Office Emergency Response Services Team responded and located the body.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">Investigators haven\u2019t released the name of the person who was found dead and it\u2019s not clear how they went under the water.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">&#8220;Never underestimate the power of moving water. The river may look calm on the surface, but strong currents and undertows can quickly pull a person under and make it extremely difficult to recover. If you are going to be in or around the river, always wear a properly fitted life jacket.
