the May shooting death of a 33-year-old man in Orlando<\/a>, according to police. <\/p>\nSusan Holloway, 37; Jessica Bennett, 36; and Jennifer Bennett, 38, were arrested Thursday, the Orlando Police Department said in a news release. <\/p>\n
Officers initially responded around 7 p.m. May 20 to a shooting reported at the intersection of Harbour Road and Chesapeake Avenue, where they located a vehicle that had crashed into a tree in front of a residence, the release states. <\/p>\n
The officers found Daryl Willis Jr. inside of the vehicle and saw that he had been shot, later reporting that he died after being taken to the hospital, police said. <\/p>\n
Joseph Petrus, 41, was quickly apprehended by patrol officers after allegedly trying to flee the scene in a vehicle, according to police. He’s still in jail and faces charges including first-degree murder, records show. <\/p>\n
Detectives determined that the shooting stemmed from a dispute over property that Willis had allegedly stolen from the mother of Jessica and Jennifer Bennett the prior night, according to the release. <\/p>\n
“Investigators learned Willis agreed to return the property and went back to the residence the following day,” the release states. “During the investigation, detectives determined that Jessica Bennett, Jennifer Bennett, Susan Holloway, and Joseph Petrus planned together to recover the property. As Willis returned to the residence, he was confronted by Petrus, who shot Willis as he attempted to drive away.” <\/p>\n
It was further learned that, after the shooting, Jessica Bennett and Susan Holloway allegedly drove to where Willis had crashed, where they tried to retrieve the property from the vehicle, police said. Jennifer Bennett had also tampered with evidence after the shooting, the release states. <\/p>\n
Holloway faces charges of burglary of an occupied conveyance and tampering with physical evidence, police said. <\/p>\n
