{"id":377161,"date":"2026-08-21T03:44:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T03:44:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/377161\/"},"modified":"2026-08-21T03:44:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T03:44:10","slug":"father-accused-of-shooting-son-during-argument-at-miami-gardens-home-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/377161\/","title":{"rendered":"Father accused of shooting son during argument at Miami Gardens home, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man was hospitalized after his father allegedly shot him during an argument at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/tag\/miami-gardens\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Miami Gardens<\/a> home Wednesday evening, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. in a residential neighborhood near an elementary school.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/tag\/miami-gardens-police\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Miami Gardens police<\/a> say an argument between a father and son escalated before the father fired through a glass door, striking his son.<\/p>\n<p>The victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, and a second person inside the home suffered minor injuries, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Neighbor Karen Mike said she and her daughter heard several gunshots.<\/p>\n<p>      <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/abby.png#.png\" alt=\"abby.png \" height=\"349\" width=\"620\" class=\" lazyload\"  loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                CBS News Miami<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When she opened up the door, we heard pop, pop, pop, pop, pop,&#8221; Mike said. &#8220;We looked like, &#8216;Is that nearby or what?'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mike said she was walking her daughter to her car for a night class when the shooting occurred.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She came, and she said, &#8216;Momma, should I go out?&#8217; and I said, &#8216;Well, let&#8217;s look and see, make sure nobody is out shooting,'&#8221; Mike said.<\/p>\n<p>Neighbors told CBS News Miami they did not see anyone running from the area after the gunfire. Several residents also said police had responded to the home days earlier for a separate disturbance.<\/p>\n<p>Police had not taken the suspect into custody as of Thursday night.
