The Miami Dolphins hosted the New York Giants in a joint practice session on Thursday as the teams prepare for Saturday\u2019s Preseason Week 2 game. New York took it to the Dolphins throughout the practice, repeatedly sacking quarterback Malik Willis and dominating all around throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Miami\u2019s players got frustrated as the heat, humidity, and Giants pressure boiled over, including leading to right tackle Austin Jackson being removed from the workout after throwing a punch. It was not a great way to end public practices for Miami this year.<\/p>\n

The Miami Herald\u2019s Omar Kelly wrote about the practice, and the skirmishes that seemed to break out as soon as the teams started their joint work, stating:<\/p>\n

Thursday\u2019s session was the first time the Hafley-coached Dolphins lost their composure during training camp. But they seemingly didn\u2019t back down from the Giants, unlike last year\u2019s joint practice against the Chicago Bears, who were hitting the Dolphins in a practice that was supposed to only be thudding (wrapping up, but nobody gets taken to the ground).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe tried to hold our composure as much as we can, but when you are out there playing football things get chippy. People are out there competing and taking it all the way to the edge,\u201d Dolphins starting center Aaron Brewer said. \u201cWe didn\u2019t try to initiate anything, but when someone comes at you, you\u2019ve got to hold your ground.\u201d<\/p>\n
