Fashion and Hope returns to support childhood cancer families in Orlando<\/p>\n

Fashion, philanthropy and community are coming together Saturday night for the 15th annual Fashion and Hope, a charity fashion event raising money to support children and families in Central Florida battling childhood cancer.<\/p>\n

The event will bring together local models, designers, businesses and community leaders for an evening featuring fashion, entertainment and a runway show at Fields Motorcars Bentley Orlando.<\/p>\n

J.R. Tanghal, President of the Hope for More Foundation, joined WESH 2’s Meaghan Mackey live in the studio ahead of this year’s event to talk about how the fashion show has grown and the impact it has had on local families.<\/p>\n

This year, Mackey will also take part in the runway show, walking with two Orlando boutiques.<\/p>\n

Helping families facing childhood cancer<\/p>\n

General admission tickets cost $200, with VIP tickets available for $250. Proceeds benefit the Give Hope Foundation<\/a>, supporting children and families in Central Florida facing childhood cancer.<\/p>\n

Mackey asked Tanghal what a $200 ticket can ultimately mean for a family going through the challenges of childhood cancer.<\/p>\n

“When you’re battling pediatric cancer, the bills don’t stop. You have your family, you might have other children involved.. bills to pay, and things are still piling up. So, every little bit helps,” Tanghal said.<\/p>\n

The event is designed to be more than a traditional charity fundraiser, combining fashion and entertainment with a mission to provide support to families who need it most.<\/p>\n

“Not only do you get a runway show with 16 amazing boutiques here in Central Florida, 10 models per boutique, so we have over 160 looks and about 100 models, which is great, but you also have a really cool art component where local artists are showcasing their art, and all those art sales are going back to the charity as well,” Tanghal said.<\/p>\n

A night of fashion, entertainment and community<\/p>\n

Guests can expect a runway featuring local talent and professional models, along with fashion and entertainment throughout the evening.<\/p>\n

“That’s what’s always the most emotional for me is that just the community coming together, because everyone’s giving up their time, their talent, and their passion,” said Tanghal. “Even the hair and makeup artists are, some of them are shutting down their salons for the day to work with the models,” Tanghal added.<\/p>\n

The event has continued to draw support from local businesses, models, designers and community leaders, something Tanghal said has played an important role in the event’s growth over the past 15 years.<\/p>\n

At last year’s fashion show, they raised $200,000.<\/p>\n
