ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 SeaWorld Orlando<\/a> is turning up the fright \u2014 and the family fun \u2014 this Halloween season with its two distinct events catering to thrill-seekers and families alike. <\/p>\n

Here\u2019s everything you need to know:<\/p>\n

Howl-O-Scream<\/p>\n

SeaWorld Orlando\u2019s Howl-O-Scream <\/a>previewed its sixth annual Howl-O-Scream event at a \u201990s-themed \u201cScream and Sweat\u201d showcase, teasing new scare zones, new bars, new haunted houses, and its first-ever IP house based on the 1997 horror film \u201cI Know What You Did Last Summer<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n

It marks the first time the film has been brought to life at a major Halloween event. Based on the 1997 Sony Pictures film and its latest installment, \u201cI Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch,\u201d the haunted house pulls guests through chilling recreations of the franchise\u2019s most memorable scenes \u2014 all while the notorious villain, the Fisherman, lurks around every corner.<\/p>\n

Cindi Miller, SeaWorld Orlando\u2019s vice president of entertainment, said a \u201990s theme was a natural fit.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gave us the opportunity to also embrace the \u201990s and really bring back an entire new level of nostalgia,\u201d Miller said. \u201cBring back all of the fashion of the \u201990s, the music, the experiences, all of the sights and sounds that we may have forgotten \u2014 but we\u2019ll be reminding you of.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s event features five haunted houses, six scare zones and two roaming hordes stalking the park\u2019s walkways throughout the night. Guests can also take on four thrill rides operating after dark, visit five themed bars and catch live entertainment scattered throughout the event.<\/p>\n

The event runs select nights starting Sept. 11. <\/p>\n

For families looking for something a little less scary, SeaWorld Orlando\u2019s Halloween Spooktacular<\/a> runs on select dates Aug. 29 through Nov. 1 \u2014 and this year, it\u2019s checking in some very famous monsters.<\/p>\n

Characters from Sony Pictures Animation\u2019s \u201cHotel Transylvania\u201d are making their debut at the event. Drac and Mavis have transformed SeaWorld\u2019s SeaFire Inn into the Monster Dread & Breakfast, a separately ticketed character dining experience featuring a breakfast buffet, meet-and-greets, dancing and immersive Hotel Transylvania-themed d\u00e9cor. A Hotel Transylvania Dance Party, hosted by Mavis and Johnny, rounds out the monster fun.<\/p>\n

Halloween Spooktacular \u2014 included with park admission \u2014 is packed with additional family-friendly activities:<\/p>\n

Trick-or-Treat Trail\u00a0\u2014 Collect treats at 12 candy stations throughout the park with a Spooktacular trick-or-treat reusable bag.<\/p>\n

Meet Spookley the Square Pumpkin\u00a0\u2014 The beloved square pumpkin returns with his message of kindness and acceptance.<\/p>\n

Meet a Mermaid\u00a0\u2014 Encounter SeaWorld\u2019s Halloween mermaids in the Key West area.<\/p>\n

Pumpkin Garden & Storytime\u00a0\u2014 Wander a whimsical garden and catch Halloween story readings throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Spooky Bubble Trail\u00a0\u2014 Follow a bubble-filled trail with Halloween surprises and Spooktacular Pals.<\/p>\n

Scarecrow Halloween Dance Parade\u00a0\u2014 Watch festive scarecrows dance in a kid-friendly Halloween parade near Dolphin Stadium.<\/p>\n

Teal Pumpkin Program\u00a0\u2014 Guests with food allergies can collect teal tokens at candy stations and redeem allergy-friendly treats at Coconut Bay Traders.<\/p>\n

Sesame Street Halloween Parade\u00a0\u2014 Elmo, Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby, Count von Count and more march in a not-too-spooky parade.<\/p>\n

Storytime with Big Bird\u00a0\u2014 Families gather around Big Bird\u2019s nest for Halloween story readings.<\/p>\n

Seasonal Treats & Sips\u00a0\u2014 New this year: the Mummy Dog, an all-beef hot dog wrapped in pretzel dough, and Trick-or-Treat Crunch Popcorn.<\/p>\n

Costumes are welcome for guests of all ages. Note that guests 13 and older may not wear costume masks or hoods.<\/p>\n
