You\u2019ve definitely heard about celebrities flocking to Nobu \u2014 whether it\u2019s the star-studded Malibu location or the sleek outpost inside Miami Beach\u2019s Eden Roc. Now, the iconic Japanese restaurant is making a major move across the causeway. Nobu Hospitality has announced plans to open a new restaurant in Brickell, inside 619 Brickell, a 74-story waterfront tower rising just south of Icon Brickell. Designed by Foster + Partners in collaboration with Sieger Suarez Architects, the project marks Nobu\u2019s first restaurant on the mainland, and its second in Miam, bringing a new level of luxury (and celebrity sightings) to the city\u2019s financial district.<\/p>\n

The new location will occupy the ground floor of the tower and feature a circular dining room that overlooks Biscayne Bay. Nobu\u2019s Miami story began exactly 24 years ago in 2001, when chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper opened the first Nobu restaurant in South Beach<\/a> at the Shore Club on Collins Avenue. The South Beach outpost quickly became one of Miami\u2019s most popular fine-dining destinations, serving its signature dishes like black cod miso, yellowtail sashimi with jalape\u00f1o, and rock shrimp tempura.<\/p>\n

In 2014, the restaurant moved to the Eden Roc Miami Beach<\/a>, where it later expanded into the Nobu Hotel Miami Beach. That property opened in 2016 as a hotel-within-a-hotel concept featuring more than 200 rooms, multiple pools, a spa, and the world\u2019s largest Nobu restaurant. The restaurant remains one of the brand\u2019s busiest locations worldwide.<\/p>\n

What to Expect<\/p>\n

Few details about the new Brickell restaurant have been shared. Nobu has not yet confirmed the opening date, chef, or menu. Based on its existing locations, the Brickell restaurant is expected to feature many of Nobu\u2019s classic dishes<\/a>, as well as the minimalist design aesthetic that defines its global portfolio. The circular dining room will open toward Biscayne Bay, offering panoramic water views that distinguish it from other Nobu restaurants.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1994, Nobu has evolved into an international hospitality group with over 50 restaurants and hotels worldwide. Each location centers on Matsuhisa\u2019s Japanese cooking style, known for blending traditional techniques with global ingredients. Miami was among the first U.S. cities to embrace the brand, and the Brickell project continues that relationship.<\/p>\n

The restaurant will join a growing list of high-profile dining names in Brickell, an area that has seen an influx of luxury restaurants in recent years. It will also expand Nobu\u2019s presence in South Florida beyond Miami Beach, where the brand has maintained a location for more than two decades.<\/p>\n
