TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) -Thousands of students at Florida A&M University and Florida State University are moving into their college dorms Saturday.<\/p>\n
There was plenty of excitement, and a few nerves, on both campuses as parents and students got ready for a new school year.<\/p>\n
All day long, parents were out helping students unpack their cars and set up their new rooms.<\/p>\n

There were plenty of hugs, goodbyes and excitement about what\u2019s ahead as students got ready to start a new school year.<\/p>\n
Despite the heat, many parents and students said the move-in process went pretty smoothly.<\/p>\n
FAMU student Hannah Bolden said she felt good about the move, but was also a little nervous about being away from home.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt went very well; it was very seamless. I packed according to the spaces in my room. I\u2019m feeling pretty good, it\u2019s been kind of nervous, definitely an interesting experience, especially moving away from my people.\u201d<\/p>\n
For FSU parent Mike Zieminick, the move-in process was easier than he expected.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m feeling very confident; it was well run, everybody was super friendly, super organized, much easier than I expected this morning.\u201d<\/p>\n
FSU student Scarlett Hurlburt said she was excited to meet more people, while also feeling a little sad about leaving home.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m excited. I\u2019ve met a lot of people in my hall already, so that\u2019s really nice. I\u2019m excited to get to know them more. I\u2019m a little like sad about leaving home; I miss my friends but and stuff like that, and I\u2019m a little nervous to start but mostly excited.\u201d<\/p>\n
FSU and FAMU students return to class in just two days. Classes begin Monday, August 24.<\/p>\n
