A man suffered life-threatening injuries in a Fort Lauderdale morning shooting on Northwest Ninth Court; suspect was detained and taken into custody.<\/p>\n

Police say they have detained a man following a Saturday morning shooting in Fort Lauderdale that sent a victim to the hospital with \u201clife-threatening injuries.\u201d<\/p>\n

Around 8:05 a.m., Fort Lauderdale police raced to reports of the shooting in the 2300 block of Northwest Ninth Court. There, officers found an unidentified man shot, police said.<\/p>\n

He was given first aid and then taken to Broward Health Medical Center by Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.<\/p>\n

The shooter, a man also not identified, did not leave the area and was detained by officers.<\/p>\n

\u201c[He] is cooperating with the investigation,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n

Details on what led up the shooting or what charges he may face was not released.<\/p>\n
