Seven residents and two cats were displaced after a house fire in an unincorporated Fort Lauderdale neighborhood on Saturday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue, firefighters responded to the home located at Northwest 24th Avenue and 6th Place at approximately 9 a.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n

When they arrived, BSO Fire reported encountering smoke and flames coming from a second-floor room at the back of the home. Firefighters were then able to contain the fire to a single room, extinguishing the blaze in approximately 15 minutes after crews arrived.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Seven residents and two cats were reportedly living in the home and are now displaced because it is considered unsafe to live in, according to a poster on the door.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.\u00a0<\/p>\n
