(WFLA) \u2014 A man previously convicted of murder has been found guilty of shooting his mother&#8217;s neighbor, authorities announced on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\"><a data-ylk=\"slk:Jontavis Williams, 42,;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;\" data-yga=\"{&quot;yLinkElement&quot;:&quot;link&quot;,&quot;yLinkElementType&quot;:&quot;article_link&quot;}\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wfla.com\/news\/hillsborough-county\/convicted-murderer-arrested-after-shooting-his-moms-neighbor-in-tampa-deputies-say\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Jontavis Williams, 42,<\/a>\u00a0was arrested in November 2025 in connection with the Tampa shooting, which Hillsborough County deputies believe happened after his mother got into an argument with her neighbor in September 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">When deputies arrived at the home on Beddington Court, they found the victim seriously injured from a single gunshot wound.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">At the time of his arrest, Williams was also wanted in a Tampa Police Department investigation related to a firearm offense in October 2025. Williams had also previously been convicted of second-degree murder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to the Hillsborough County State Attorney&#8217;s Office, 13th Judicial Circuit, jurors found Williams guilty of second-degree attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, and shooting at, within, or into a building.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
