(FOX Carolina) &#8211; Mitchell County Sheriff\u2019s Office said a Florida teen is accused of making threatening calls to Mitchell County Middle and Elementary schools.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, the schools received six phone calls that started as vulgar comments and later included comments about \u201cshooting the school up,\u201d according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The sheriff\u2019s office said the Mitchell County school resource officers, Mitchell County Sheriff\u2019s Office Investigative Team, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and the FBI launched an investigation using a phone number associated with the calls.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">According to the sheriff\u2019s office, the investigation led to a male juvenile from Okeechobee, Florida, being found and interviewed. He confessed to making the phone calls.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">At this time, the sheriff\u2019s office said there is no known connection between the juvenile and Mitchell County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The sheriff\u2019s office said there is currently no credible threat involving this incident at Mitchell County Schools.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">FOX Carolina has reached out to the sheriff\u2019s office for more information on this incident.
