(CBS12) \u2014 A car burst into flames after being struck by an Amtrak train Saturday night in Fort Lauderdale, per officials.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cbs12.com\/search?find=Fort+Lauderdale+Fire+Rescue\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue<\/a> told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/miami\/news\/amtrak-train-vehicle-collision-fort-lauderdale-fire-august-22-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">CBS Miami<\/a> that the crash happened at 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Northwest 9th Ave. and West Prospect Road. The department responded to the fire after multiple 911 calls reported the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Crews from Fort Lauderdale and Oakland Park fire rescue arrived to find the vehicle burning next to the stopped Amtrak train. No injuries had been confirmed among the train&#8217;s passengers or crew, though firefighters were evaluating two people at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of the crash has not been released.
