previously reported<\/a>, many police cruisers were spotted in the 9500 block of Stanford Ridge Court.<\/p>\nIn a release on Monday, the Miami Twp. Police Department confirmed they were called out to the scene around 1:50 p.m.<\/p>\n

When they arrived, they found 85-year-old Annie Franklin and 87-year-old William Franklin lying in the backyard. They were both suffering from head wounds. <\/p>\n
Police also found a firearm near William. <\/p>\n
Annie was pronounced dead at the scene, while William was taken to Kettering Medical Center, where he later died. <\/p>\n
During the investigation, detectives were told that William called his daughter to tell her he was picking up his wife from the nursing home she lived at. <\/p>\n
He went on to tell his daughter that he killed her and was going to kill himself, prompting their daughter to call 911 immediately. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a tragic situation for this family. Our officers used the upmost care and concern while investigating this incident,\u201d Miami Township Police Chief Adam Nielsen said in a statement. \u201cWe extend our deepest condolences to the family and neighbors of the Franklins.\u201d <\/p>\n
The case remains under investigation. <\/p>\n
