{"id":380074,"date":"2026-08-24T21:58:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T21:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/380074\/"},"modified":"2026-08-24T21:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T21:58:08","slug":"man-shot-in-fort-lauderdale-during-dispute-police-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/380074\/","title":{"rendered":"Man shot in Fort Lauderdale during dispute, police say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A man died on Saturday after he was shot in Fort Lauderdale during a dispute in which the shooter said he acted in self-defense, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Just after 8 a.m. Saturday, officers were called to the <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/on6s78PaCKzoaHzQ6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2300 block of Northwest Ninth Court<\/a>, where they found Alrick Francis, 59, of Fort Lauderdale, who had life-threatening injuries after being shot, police department spokesperson Casey Liening said.<\/p>\n<p>Officers treated Francis until Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue arrived and took him to Broward Health Medical Center.
