Volunteer Coach Training will take place on Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. to noon. It is mandatory for all volunteer coaches. A second session is set for Oct. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. for those unable to attend in August. It will include: on-boarding session, code of conduct, CPR compression only, and youth sports concussion video and discussion. The Sanibel Fire and Rescue District will offer blood pressure checks on Aug. 31 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
The Flag Football Fall League will run from Oct. 9 through Nov. 20, with practice from 5 to 5:45 p.m. followed by game play from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. Open to boys and girls in grades K-8, the program offers a fun, supportive environment where young athletes can build skills, confidence, teamwork and sportsmanship. The cost is $60 for members and $75 for non-members and includes a jersey. Registration is required.<\/p>\n
The center is open on Mondays through Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beach parking permits are available for purchase.<\/p>\n
