{"id":380918,"date":"2026-08-25T19:06:32","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T19:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/380918\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T19:06:32","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T19:06:32","slug":"watch-live-miami-heat-introduce-sharpshooter-klay-thompson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/380918\/","title":{"rendered":"WATCH LIVE: Miami Heat introduce sharpshooter Klay Thompson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">MIAMI \u2014 Four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson is set to be introduced Tuesday as the Miami Heat\u2019s newest star after officially joining the team <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/sports\/local\/2026\/08\/21\/klay-thompson-expected-to-join-miami-heat-after-mavericks-buyout-multiple-reports-say\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/sports\/local\/2026\/08\/21\/klay-thompson-expected-to-join-miami-heat-after-mavericks-buyout-multiple-reports-say\/\">following a buyout with the Dallas Mavericks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The introductory press conference is set for 3 p.m. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2026\/08\/25\/miami-heat-se-prepara-para-presentar-al-tirador-de-elite-klay-thompson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.local10.com\/espanol\/2026\/08\/25\/miami-heat-se-prepara-para-presentar-al-tirador-de-elite-klay-thompson\/\">Leer en espa\u00f1ol<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 36-year-old sharpshooting forward cleared waivers and signed with Miami this past weekend after spending the past two seasons in Dallas. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Thompson will bring his elite three-point shooting to a Heat team that also added Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis and Tim Hardaway Jr. this offseason.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Heat president Pat Riley previously called Thompson one of the most iconic players ever to suit up in the NBA.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Thompson spent the first 13 seasons of his career with the Golden State Warriors, winning four championships alongside fellow \u201cSplash Brother\u201d Stephen Curry and earning five All-Star selections.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Now, Thompson is looking forward to a new chapter in Miami.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cMy joints just feel good being out here with this climate,\u201d Thompson said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MiamiHEAT\/status\/2092067161695007143\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow\" title=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MiamiHEAT\/status\/2092067161695007143\">social media post by the Heat<\/a>. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to meet my staff and my coworkers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He also said he has been enjoying Miami\u2019s food and getting settled into the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cI was always here in passing, so it\u2019s nice to be planted, just being able to experience a great place,\u201d Thompson added. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Thompson brings one of the most impressive three-point resumes in NBA history.
