{"id":381216,"date":"2026-08-26T01:32:18","date_gmt":"2026-08-26T01:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/381216\/"},"modified":"2026-08-26T01:32:18","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T01:32:18","slug":"man-charged-with-manslaughter-after-bb-gun-shooting-in-fort-pierce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/381216\/","title":{"rendered":"Man charged with manslaughter after BB gun shooting in Fort Pierce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Man charged with manslaughter after BB gun shooting in Fort Pierce<\/p>\n<p>A 36-year-old man in Fort Pierce is facing manslaughter charges after police say he fatally shot a 34-year-old man with a BB gun on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1787707938_810_author_avatar.png\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"John Perik\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>FORT PIERCE, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">A 36-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after Fort Pierce police say he fatally shot a 34-year-old man with a BB gun on Saturday near an elementary school.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">Police said the incident happened in the 2900 block of Avenue G, where a group of men in their 30s had been shooting a BB gun at trees.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">Investigators believe Jabari Cowart, the suspect, asked to use the BB gun and later pointed it at one of the men before pulling the trigger. The victim fell to the ground, and officers were called to the scene.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">Ken Noble, marketing manager at The Tactical Store in Fort Pierce, spoke about the dangers of BB guns.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">&#8220;They can be extremely dangerous. It\u2019s a piece of metal moving really, really fast,&#8221; Noble said.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">He explained that BB guns, while often considered less harmful than traditional firearms, can still cause serious injury or death.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"8\">&#8220;Anything with a projectile can be a weapon.
