The search started with a 911 call on Sunday. <\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s gone under. I don\u2019t think I can go out there after him,\u201d the caller told the dispatcher. <\/p>\n
Sunday evening, that caller watched along the river as a man struggled to stay afloat. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s white, in the middle of the river,\u201d the caller said. \u201cI thought he was swimming, but I thought I heard him calling for help.\u201d <\/p>\n
The caller couldn\u2019t hop in to save the man because of the strong current and high waters, so they described what they saw. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt looks like something that\u2019s just a couple of inches in size, and I can\u2019t tell if that\u2019s part of him or if that was something else,\u201d the caller said. <\/p>\n
Rescue efforts started just after 4 p.m. on Sunday. Around 6 p.m., it turned into a recovery mission. <\/p>\n
They had to suspend operations when it got dark, but returned around 8 a.m. on Monday to continue their search. <\/p>\n
Crews then returned Tuesday. <\/p>\n
