The move brings Svitla closer to existing clients while giving the company a base for further growth across all three markets.

“It seems like a very right place for us to expand,” Anon [pictured above] told Refresh Miami.

Svitla enters the city with considerable scale. The company has more than 1,300 employees and adds roughly 60 to 70 people each month, according to Anon – a portion of which will be in the Miami area. Its teams work across software engineering, data, cloud, and artificial intelligence.

More than 500 of those professionals are based in Latin America, including Mexico, Costa Rica, Argentina and Colombia. Another 500-plus work across Ukraine, Poland and Romania. Miami, long shaped by its ties to Latin America and growing links with Europe, sits neatly between those two groups.

The company already has clients in Florida, while its chief technology officer and chief AI officer are based in the state. Anon also pointed to Miami’s startup and venture capital community as a strong fit for Svitla, which got its start serving young Silicon Valley companies through her Stanford alumni network.

“We staff teams of developers for startups that are starving for technical talent and enable them to get to market faster,” she said.

✓

Check your inbox for a confirmation email.

For nontechnical founders, Svitla can serve as the full development team. For larger companies with engineering leaders already in place, it can add specialists from its global workforce as projects grow.

AI is becoming a larger part of that work, though Anon said many traditional businesses remain cautious about putting the technology into practice. Her advice is to begin with the workflow employees complain about most, especially one packed with repetitive, manual tasks.

“Pick that one for starters,” she said. Svitla can build a pilot, measure its effect against existing business goals and keep a person involved in the process before moving to a wider rollout.

Miami may also become a stop for another project close to Anon. She founded Stanford Ignite Ukraine, an annual program that brings Ukrainian entrepreneurs to Stanford for three weeks of courses in sales, marketing, finance and negotiation. The next group could include about 50 founders. As founding board director of Endeavor Ukraine, Anon hopes to build ties with Endeavor Miami and connect Ukrainian tech founders with South Florida’s startup community.

Svitla’s move comes with the usual business logic: clients, talent and access to fast-growing markets. But Anon admitted that Miami offered one more item for the company’s list.

“Plus the sun and the beach,” she said. “That doesn’t hurt!”

READ MORE IN REFRESH MIAMI:

I am a Miami-based technology researcher and writer with a passion for sharing stories about the South Florida tech ecosystem.
