ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. \u2013 Nearly 40 people were taken into custody in a recent prostitution probe out of Altamonte Springs, according to the police department.<\/p>\n
In a release, police said that the initiative \u2014 dubbed \u201cOperation Midnight Heat\u201d \u2014 spanned two days and focused on combatting prostitution-related offenses, catching wanted individuals, and identifying potential human trafficking victims.<\/p>\n
The operation didn\u2019t just involve Altamonte Springs police, though. Officials said it was conducted in tandem with the Seminole County Sheriff\u2019s Office, the FDLE, and other law enforcement partners.<\/p>\n
Overall, police said the operation netted 37 arrests, which include the following charges:<\/p>\n
Prostitution-rlated offenses<\/p>\n
Traveling to meet after using a computer to lure a child<\/p>\n
Possession of cocaine<\/p>\n
Possession of fentanyl<\/p>\n
Possession of drug paraphernalia<\/p>\n
Resisting an officer without violence<\/p>\n
\u201cThe operation reflects the commitment of the Altamonte Springs Police Department and its law enforcement partners to identifying and addressing criminal activity that threatens the safety and well-being of the community,\u201d the release reads.<\/p>\n
