TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Florida State University students returned to campus Monday for the first day of fall classes.<\/p>\n
According to the university, more than 6,000 first-year students began classes Monday. The total number of students is around 45,000.<\/p>\n
Students filled FSU\u2019s campus for the first day of fall classes. Some are just starting their journey, while others are entering their final year.<\/p>\n
FSU sophomore Emmie Grabill and freshman Sadie Benoit said they are enthusiastic about the semester ahead. For Grable, the start of the year is about reunions. For Benoit, it marks a first of many milestones, including her first day of college, her first time living away from home and her first experience of life on her own.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m so excited to be back. I\u2019m so excited to see all my friends and meet new friends, just like Sadie,\u201d Grable said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI met so many people through recruitment, and then now I\u2019ve met so many people at the house, and everybody\u2019s so nice,\u201d Benoit said.<\/p>\n
Between move-in, sorority recruitment and a full class schedule, both students said the beginning of the school year has been a whirlwind.<\/p>\n
FSU senior Elliot Muskat and student Mariah Shuford also shared their thoughts on returning to campus.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m feeling good. I mean, I\u2019m happy to be back on campus. It\u2019s hot, as always… I mean, it\u2019s worth it, though, because we get to be on such a beautiful campus, and we got the shade and everything, so I really can\u2019t complain. I\u2019m just happy to be here,\u201d Muskat said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels really good. I feel more confident this year than last year. It was a little rocky, but I\u2019m really excited this year,\u201d Shuford said.<\/p>\n
