The Jaguars will play the Buccaneers in the regular-season finale at EverBank Stadium Friday, with few \u2013 if any \u2013 starters expected to play as the team uses Preseason Week 3 to evaluate and develop younger players and reserves.<\/p>\n
The Jaguars will play host to the Cleveland Browns\u00a0in the regular-season opener\u00a0September 13.<\/p>\n
“Next week is kind of an in-between week as well and we still got some prep this week to finish up,” Lawrence said. “When you start off,\u00a0you know have so much camp ahead of you and so much time to work on different things and it can be kind of a grind, but then now when you get to this point, you’re like,\u00a0‘Man, we got two weeks, less than two weeks before we’re preparing to play Cleveland, but we play in basically two weeks.’<\/p>\n
“That sounds crazy thinking about it and just realizing how close it is, how far we’ve come, but still how much work we have to do to get ready for Week One.”<\/p>\n
Lawrence said the\u00a0coming days will be about studying Cleveland “more and more,” with the Jaguars scheduled to practice next week during the bye week between the preseason and Week 1 before\u00a0their “normal” regular-season weekly schedule begins.<\/p>\n
“Next week’s practice will definitely be more geared towards those looks and trying to get some preparation started on Cleveland,” he said. “You don’t have the whole game plan in by any means,\u00a0but you start getting familiar with the defense you’re playing and what you’re going to get coming into Week One so you can be a little bit ahead.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"JACKSONVILLE \u2013\u00a0A lot got done, with more to do.
