At the \u201ccenter of debate\u201d will be the primary ballpark agreement (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/sports\/rays\/2026\/08\/26\/tampa-bay-rays-stadium-deal-public-money-property-taxes-cit-cra-lithia-pinecrest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">TAMPA BAY TIMES, 8\/26<\/a>). In Tampa, John Romano wrote the ballpark plan \u201ccarries risks.\u201d It is \u201con such a rushed timetable that it involves far more unknowns than a multibillion-dollar deal should.\u201d But despite that, \u201cthere are reasons this project may be better than your typical subsidized\u201d ballpark. Romano: \u201cIs it worth the investment?
