{"id":383373,"date":"2026-08-28T08:44:28","date_gmt":"2026-08-28T08:44:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/383373\/"},"modified":"2026-08-28T08:44:28","modified_gmt":"2026-08-28T08:44:28","slug":"teen-arrested-months-after-veteran-killed-trying-to-break-up-fight-in-orange-county","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/383373\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen arrested months after veteran killed trying to break up fight in Orange County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. \u2013 A teen has been arrested after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clickorlando.com\/news\/local\/2026\/04\/20\/family-seeks-answers-after-25-year-old-veteran-shot-and-killed-in-orange-county\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.clickorlando.com\/news\/local\/2026\/04\/20\/family-seeks-answers-after-25-year-old-veteran-shot-and-killed-in-orange-county\/\">a 25-year-old veteran was reportedly shot and killed<\/a> trying to break up a fight earlier this year, according to the Orange County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Deputies said the incident happened back in April in the 2200 block of Weston Point Drive.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">At the time, two men in their 20s had been shot and were subsequently taken to the hospital, where one of them died, deputies explained.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">That victim was identified as 25-year-old Robert Shealey, Jr.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">Shealey\u2019s family told News 6 that he had served four years in the National Guard and was injured in the line of duty. <\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">They also claimed he was trying to break up a fight on a basketball court and keep the peace when he was fatally shot.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Box-_wrDxHtU__Box-sc-10sa3ie-0 Text-nO2aZ44r__TextBase-sc-s2hv5x-0 jJNfBD fSvavs article-text\">\u201cHe kept trying to help everywhere he went, and he tried to diffuse an argument or fight.
