After scoring the opening goal in the 2024 quarterfinal, McCutcheon did it again, scoring in the 21st minute after striking a centered ball from Julie Doyle past the keeper. Luana, who a year ago was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, returned in September and was removed from the season-ending injury list. On Friday, the Brazilian found Marta on a loose ball, who made a run toward goal before getting fouled inside the box, setting up Luana to take the game-clinching penalty. Orlando goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse finished with seven saves, including a kick save in the 76th minute to deny Seattle the equalizer. Up next, the Pride awaits the winner between the No. 1 seed Kansas City Current and No. 8 seed Gotham FC. The semifinals are slated to take place the weekend of Nov. 15-16.
